The Barking and Dagenham Partnership brings together all those who want to make Barking and Dagenham a better place to live, study, work, play and visit.
The Barking and Dagenham Partnership was set up in 2001 to work together to provide a coordinated strategic approach to delivering services, and improving the quality of life for local people and communities in the borough.
It brings together the Council, health services, police and fire service, working with local businesses, representatives of the voluntary and community sector and members of the local community.
The Partnership is a non-statutory and non executive organisation, but includes the statutory Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (Barking and Dagenham’s Community Safety Partnership) as required by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and the Health and Wellbeing Board is operating in a ‘Shadow’ format in anticipation of taking on statutory duties following the Health and Social Care Bill receiving Royal Assent (expected in July 2011). The Children's Trust, set up as a result of the Children's Act 2004 is continuing due to the overwhelming support of the partners even though it became non statutory in 2010.
