Safe sharing of information

It is essential that residents receive 'joined up' public services.  For that to happen, it is equally essential that services can share information about residents and customers so that they can plan and deliver appropriate services.  This must be done with clients' consent and under appropriate frameworks.

The Partnership has agreed two principal frameworks for the sharing of information about residents in order to deliver improved services.  They are available for download from this page.

The Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (Safer Borough Board)

Information Sharing Protocol - Safer Borough Board

Under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and other legislation, local partnership agencies are placed under a duty to share information for the prevention of crime and disorder.  To govern that sharing, and ensure that it is done safely and appropriately, the Safer Borough Board has agreed an information sharing protocol with the Council and Police as lead agencies, but incorporating many other partners.
