The Partnership conference took place at Goresbrook Leisure Centre on 1 July 2010, with over 160 people attending to hear the Leader of the Council, Cllr Liam Smith, inroduce keynote speaker Tony Travers of the London School of Economics. The event revolved - quite literally - around five workshops, through which delegates moved in turn to cover diverse elements of the overall theme: raising economic prosperity.
Conference report
The initial 'buzz' and subsequent feedback is of a productive morning, with much input and a good chance for some debate, even if some would have liked the workshop sessions to be longer.

Future conferences
From now on the conference will be annually, with the next event set for July 2011. And it's a big one: the Partnership will be 10 years old, so expect a good celebration, as well as some reflection and the chance to set the Partnership on track for the decade ahead.
