For the past 18 months, the Council has been working with partner agencies including JobCentre Plus, Barking & Dagenham College and the Citizens' Advice Bureau, to ensure that there are a good range of support services available to help people through the recession.
As part of that work, the Council produced a brochure which detailed sources of help and support. A reprint has just been issued, and copies are available from all libraries, One Stop Shops and Council offices. If you work with people who may be vulnerable to the current economic pressures, then this guide will provide a useful source of information about where they can get help.
It coincides with the issuing of this year's Council Tax bills, which have been frozen at last year's levels for the second year running. These are also accompanied by a guide to the services that the Council Tax funds, and to sources of help and support. To download the guide, click here to go to the Council Tax page on the Council website.
