Older People's Day 2010
The Barking and Dagenham Partnership will be again celebrating National Older People’s Day. We will be hosting a free programme of events and launching the Older People’s strategy. The theme of the day is Getting and Staying Healthy in Later Life.
The event will be on Friday 1st October, from 10:00 am at the Goresbrook Leisure Centre.
If you are aged 50 and above, come along to the celebration to:
- try something new such as an activity session with the Elderberries (10am) Short Mat Bowls/ Badminton (11am), Tai Chi (11.45am) and Line Dancing (1.45pm)
- get back into the pool with water confidence sessions
- have a free gym induction or health check
- enjoy a performance from local older people’s choir Vintage Voices
- find out what is going on in your area
- receive advice and information on health, security, housing, transport and much more
- have your opinions heard on the services that affect you and
- meet new people and have a free lunch.
Getting to Goresbrook Leisure Centre:
Take the District Line to Dagenham Heathway and Bus 173 towards Beckton ASDA from Bus Stop E

Alternatively Take Bus 287 from Barking Station
